The Centre for Mediterranean, Middle East and Islamic Studies (CEMMIS) of the University of the Peloponnese organised an e-lecture by Dr. Abdullah Baabood on: “The Gulf and Regional Balance in the Middle East: Challenges and Perspectives”
Both the e-lecture and the discussion were conducted in English. The online event took place on Monday, April 26 (12:30 p.m. Athens time).
Abdullah Baabood’s résumé:
Abdullah Baabood is an academic from Oman who is currently holding the Chair of the State of Qatar for Islamic Area Studies and a visiting professor at the School of International Liberal Studies, Waseda University in Tokyo-Japan. Abdullah taught and carried out research at different universities and institutions. He was a visiting professor at the Middle East Institute, National University of Singapore and a visiting professor at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar. He previously held the positions of the Director of the Gulf Studies Center at Qatar University and the Director of the Gulf Research Center at the University of Cambridge, UK. His teaching and research interest focuses on international relations, international political economy, especially on globalization and regionalism. His area focus is on the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economic, social and political development and their external relations. He has published widely and is frequently invited to speak on international conferences and seminars as well media programs.
